Waiting

If you had told me when I was twenty that I would still be waiting when I was thirty, still waiting at thirty-five. I think I would have thought you were crazy. Deep in my heart I knew I would, but I hoped I was wrong because knowing that felt overwhelming. I remember waiting took forever back then, and now waiting just seems to be a part of life.

I have found my elephant circle, my group of close girlfriends who circle and encourage and lift me up.  but we are all still waiting. Waiting on husbands, homes, roots, babies, families and life. perhaps you should have told me that life is really about waiting until suddenly there are bursts of life and unexpected dreams. But the waiting seems to take forever.  Dreaming expectantly... and waiting.
